Fat
This method is applicable to powdered products based on cow's milk, goat's milk, soy and premixes. The method is equivalent to ISO 1736.
A homogeneous suspension is made from the sample. Various solvents are then added to extract the fats from the sample. The organic layer, containing the dissolved fats, is transferred to a dish. The solvents are evaporated by means of a hot plate and the fat remains to be weighed. The result is the number of grams of fat in the powder sample.
