From March 25–27, 2025, Zexin Qian and Jurjen Timmerman from CCIC EFT attended the AOAC Food Testing Technologies and Standards Symposium held in Shenzhen, China.

Organized by AOAC China and several professional bodies, the event brought together experts and stakeholders in food testing and regulatory science to share the latest developments in detection methods and standardization.

Key themes of the symposium included:

 • Harmonization between national and international testing standards

 • Detection and risk assessment of emerging food contaminants

 • Advances in microbiological and nutritional testing methods

 • Development of rapid testing technologies and smart laboratories

 • New international and Chinese updates on dairy and FSMP testing standards

Throughout the sessions, international experts from organizations such as AOAC INTERNATIONAL, China Customs, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment, ISO - International Organization for Standardization, Nestlé, and Danone shared valuable insights on the evolving landscape of food quality and safety testing.

Although CCIC EFT joined primarily as participants, the symposium provided a rich learning environment and deepened our understanding of emerging standards and technologies.

We remain committed to integrating global best practices into our services and contributing to the advancement of food safety.
